MIRROR

Mirror is a functional wall sculpture conceived for the domestic interior. Made from a piece of driftwood recovered from a river and paired with cast pewter details, the work invites an intimate encounter between the object and its user.

A knot cavity conceals a small eye-shaped mirror. Looking into it, the viewer sees only their own eye, framed by the tree trunk as if looking from within it. Pulling the hanging pull cast in pewter illuminates the cavity, reversing the gaze—the tree now appears to look back.
